Boeing looks to China as it forecasts work for the future

China is poised to pass the United States as the top country for air travel in the world over the next 20 years, and Boeing is setting itself up to get in on the action.
Forty-eight percent off all air travel in the world is expected to go through China by 2033. According to that figure, it will surpass the U.S. as the top air travel country.
Boeing is increasing its forecast of how many planes the country will need to handle that demand.
The company believes China will need over 6,000 new airplanes over the next 20 years. That’s about 500 more than Boeing projected last year.
By comparison, Boeing projects North America will need just over 7,500 new planes over that time. Global demand is nearly 37,000 new airplanes.
