Boeing leaders, government officials, and elected officials gathered at the company’s Everett facility to mark the certification of the 737 MAX 10, describing it as a major milestone for the program and the Boeing team.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy presented the certification during the event. He praised the work of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing teams, while saying the certification process should move faster without compromising safety.

“Safety is job number one. You don’t have a company without safety. I don’t have a job without safety,” Duffy said.

He added that his administration would work on reforms to help bring new aircraft and innovations to market more quickly.

737 MAX 10 certification completes Boeing’s MAX family

Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope called the certification a significant step for the company and its customers. She said the 737 MAX 10 would offer greater capacity — up to 230 seats — and longer range while using less fuel, and would complete the 737 MAX family.

“Today is also historic,” Pope said, noting that the team had worked on certification of two aircraft in the same year. “It takes an incredible talent, dedication, resiliency, technical expertise, commitment, and leadership.”

Pope thanked customers for their collaboration and support during development. With certification complete, she said, Boeing would focus on preparing aircraft for delivery and continuing to sell the 737-10.

U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, whose district includes Everett, said the milestone could support the region’s aerospace workforce and Boeing’s manufacturing presence in the area.

“This certification marks an important milestone for years to come,” Larsen said.

Boeing credits teams, partners behind 737 MAX 10 milestone

Program leader Chris Payne credited teams across Boeing, including test pilots, engineers, and employees in the company’s global operations. He described the program as “truly a One Boeing effort” and praised the teams’ work on the 737 MAX 10.

The ceremony also recognized FAA officials, supplier partners, and airline customers who contributed to or supported the program. Boeing executives said they hoped the aircraft would expand the company’s commercial offerings and serve customers around the world.

More than 1,500 737 MAX 10s have already been ordered, and many more are expected.
