It's not just snacks and sodas that come out of vending machines anymore. Coinstar is anticipating major changes in the market.

Now that we are used to getting DVD’s out of a
vending machine, Seattle-based Coinstar is ready to expand
their business model again.

The company behind Redbox is testing a new type of
kiosk they are calling “Gizmo”. According to the Puget
Sound Business Journal, Gizmo dispenses low-cost refurbished
electronics, including cell phones, tablet computers and
video game consoles, at discounted prices.

They are already being tested in San Antonio, TX and
Los Angeles, CA.

Also on Coinstar’s radar, recycling your old mobile
phone. They just installed a machine at Everett Mall that
will give you cash for your old cell. They are calling that
one “EcoATM”.
