Everett

In Everett, a hard-fought mayor’s race focused on both the city’s homelessness and opioid crises and put two city council members against each other.

On Wednesday evening, Judy Tuohy had 50.04 percent of the vote (4,804). Cassie Franklin had 49.96 percent (4,797). More Snohomish County election results here.

Tacoma

Tacoma’s mayor’s race tilts toward Victoria Woodards. After a second day of counting votes, Woodards gained an extra point to settle at 53 percent. Jim Meritt had 47 percent of the vote.

While the two agreed on some local issues, they parted company on a proposal to build a natural gas plant in the city limits and on an assertion that Woodard deliberately falsified her educational background in a 2005 voters’ guide. More Pierce County election results here.
