An impromptu tent city stood outside the entrance to Mukilteo Elementary School Monday morning.
The tents were filled with families trying to get kindergarten placement for their children.
Dodi Greaves and her husband Scott told KING 5 they wanted to make sure their 5-year-old son Ben got into a class.
“It’s first come, first served, so we didn’t want to chance it,” said Scott Greaves.
The sign ups for all-day kindergarten were first come, first served.
Parents reportedly braved the cold at several Mukilteo elementary schools trying to get their kids placement.
At Mukilteo Elementary School, all the families waiting outside were granted a spot.
