Fighter jets buzzing skies near Seattle Tuesday

We’re all used to the roar of the Navy Blue Angels
during Seafair but you might be surprised to see or hear
fighter jets in the skies Tuesday.
Fighter jets controlled by NORAD, the North American
Aerospace Defense Command, are practicing intercept and
identification drills in the skies near Seattle and out
toward the Washington coast.
The drills have fighter jets flying in close
proximity to military aircraft, simulating the scenario of a
hijacking or airspace violation.
These exercises have happened regularly since the
terrorist attacks of 9/11. Other drills are planned for the
next couple of days in Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado, and
Texas.
