Highline Public Schools adding bus cameras to catch unsafe drivers

Cameras will be added to Highline Public School buses to catch drivers putting children at risk.
The cameras, mounted on the stop paddles of the buses, are designed to capture motorists ignoring the stop signs that are used when children are loading and unloading.
Drivers will face up to a $394 fine if they are caught ignoring a stop paddle, according to information from the school district.
Fines will be given starting in June. Until then, warnings will be issued.
Highline Public Schools have five buses outfitted with the cameras.
