Initiative 1433 – promoted by the Raise Up Washington campaign – would increase the Washington state minimum wage in stages to $13.50 by 2020.

The current Washington minimum wage is $9.47.

Supporters of the wage hike were able to raise $4.2 million for the initiative effort, according to Ballotpedia. Venture capitalist Nick Hanauer contributed $1 million in favor of the minimum wage hike. Those opposed to Initiative 1433 raised $82,000.
