KC Exec Dow Constantine turns down White House Seahawks celebration to be dad

May 20, 2014, 1:18 PM | Updated: 1:31 pm

King County Executive Dow Constantine loves the Seahawks. But he has a new love that’s prompted him to turn down an invite to take part in a White House ceremony Wednesday honoring the Seahawks’ Super Bowl championship.

Constantine is the proud papa of baby Sabrina Kyoko Adele Constantine, born May 9. While mom and baby are doing just fine, Constantine put out a statement saying he needs to stay home with his own All-Star.

“I’m grateful to be invited by the President to honor the Seahawks at the White House, but there’s a healthy 1′ 6”, 6 lb rookie out of Swedish who wants her dad at home.

“Just got to have faith that the Hawks will return to the Super Bowl, so I can take part in the celebration next year. By then, Sabrina should be an expert at yelling ‘Go Hawks!'”

Okay 12s, would you leave the kid at home for what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity? Let’s hope Constantine is right and he gets another shot at the White House.
