Liquor store closings may mean great wine deals

Do you drink a glass of wine with you dinner or for your health? With the upcoming closing of Washington state liquor stores, now might be the time to stock up.
The stores will have to unload all of their inventory as the state releases control of the liquor stores on June 1.
Brian Smith with the Liquor Control Board said getting rid of spirits won’t be hard.
“Almost all of the products on our shelves, 99 percent of that, are covered by a supplier buy back agreement. That means they would agree to buy back any remaining product after June 1,” said Smith.
But he said most of their wine is not covered under the buy-back agreement.
That means, as June 1 approaches, the wine that remains on Washington State Liquor store shelves will keep getting cheaper and cheaper until it’s gone.
