Man shot in downtown Seattle apartment, suspect in custody

Seattle police report they have a suspect in custody after a shooting was reported at a downtown Seattle apartment Thursday morning.

A man in his 40s with a single gunshot wound to the stomach was found unconscious and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, was taken into custody at the scene in the 1400 block of 3rd Ave. Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt says the two men were heard arguing prior to the shooting.

“The two males who are tenants in the building, they were in the hallway arguing just prior to shots being fired.”

Seattle police say detectives processed the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
