Mixed reactions to Trump running for president in 2024

Donald Trump is running for president…again.
He made the announcement from Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday.
“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said.
As he entered the room along with former first lady Melania Trump, the twice-impeached former president was introduced as the “next president” of the United States, teasing his announcement.
“Two years ago, we were a great nation, and soon, we will be a great nation again,” Trump, 76, told his supporters.
This is the third time Trump will be running for president.

“I think this is great. Between this and the senate race in Georgia, they are shining a light on the Republican party,” said Gee Scott of The Gee and Ursula Show on KIRO Newsradio. “The GOP is really giving people a choice.
“‘Do we choose awfulness or choose no awfulness?'” Gee went on. “The Trump candidacy will give us a clear indication.”
“Trump used the presidency as a shield from prosecution and a cash cow. He is running to serve his own ego,” said Spike O’Neill of KIRO Nights. “People are done with Trump.
“There will always be 27% of Republicans who are the cult members,” Spike continued. “They’ll never go away, but for all the rest, they have moved on.”
“It’s a mistake for Donald Trump to announce right now. All Republican energy should be on winning the Georgia Senate run-off race,” Jason Rantz of KTTH’s The Jason Rantz Show. “There’s simply too much on the line.
“By announcing, Trump takes the media and activist focus away from Georgia and it allows bad-faith partisans to make the Senate race about Trump,” Rantz explained. “Trump would be a stronger candidate for President by waiting.”
