UPDATE at 5:10 a.m. – The Tokitae is back in service Thursday with the 5:10 a.m. sailing from Clinton and the 5:35 a.m. sailing from Mukilteo.

A Washington State Ferry serving the Mukilteo-Clinton route lost power about a half-mile from dock Wednesday afternoon.

The Tokitae was “out of service” just around 5:12 p.m. and the route was down to one boat, according Washington State Ferries spokesperson Susan Harris-Huether.

There were 173 people on board.

The Washington State Ferries’ vessel watch showed the vessel off course, to the north of the Mukilteo terminal. Harris-Huether said the vessel was far enough out that there was no danger.

The vessel “drifted for a bit,” Harris-Huether said.

After getting some power back, passengers were dropped off at Mukilteo, before the ferry was brought to Clinton for the night, Harris-Huether said.
