A disagreement over a $20 marijuana sale prompted a showdown
and a fatal gun battle in an Arlington park.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives are getting different
witness accounts about what happened last Saturday, but the
trouble seems to have started with a pot sale rip-off at a
grocery store in Arlington.
Following an argument, those involved apparently decided to
settle their differences at Blue Stilly Park, inviting
family and friends to join them for a fist fight.
The Everett Herald reports several people
exchanged gunfire.
Ryan Mumm, 20, was shot in the head and died the next day.
Detectives think multiple people fired guns. On Wednesday,
they arrested Dennis Watters, 41, of Tulalip, who insists he
fired in self defense.
