A storm swept across the Puget Sound region over the weekend, with windy and rainy conditions expected to continue through the early portion of the week.

High winds on Sunday knocked out power for thousands of people, knocking down trees and power lines, and killing two people after a tree landed on a car in Fall City.

As of Monday night, only about 8,000 customers were still without power — that’s down from over 160,000 on Sunday.

Several schools reported closures on Monday as a result of the storm as well, including King’s School in Seattle, Olympia Waldorf School, and the Northwest School for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (also in Seattle).

The National Weather Service predicts that “a frontal wave will bring another round of rain” Monday, with activity expected to arrive inland by the afternoon. It will likely still be “breezy,” but not as windy as it was over the weekend.
