Puns abound after Seattle cops catch robber stashing loot where sun doesn’t shine

The jokes are flying after Seattle police caught a gas station robber hiding the loot in a place where the sun doesn’t shine.

Police say they cracked the case (their pun, not ours) as they investigated the robbery outside a Capitol gas station at Broadway and East Pike Street early Tuesday morning.

Cops quickly tracked down the 42-year-old suspect after he pulled a knife on a man outside the business, said detective Drew Fowler. They found the knife where the suspect had thrown it nearby, but after patting him down they couldn’t find the cash he’d stolen.

Police arrested the man and took him back to the East Precinct. He finally dropped all pretense, and his drawers, revealing he’d hidden the money in his rear end.

The suspect was gracious enough to retrieve the money – two twenty dollar bills – so the cops didn’t have to.

Officers booked the man into the King County Jail for robbery and theft warrant.

There’s no word if the business owner wants the cash back.
