The fire was inside the Columbia Funeral Home and Crematory. SFD noted that the fire was “well involved,” and put firefighters in a defensive position.

SFD doused the flames from a safe distance away from the building.

Nearly two hours later, at 5:24 a.m. SFD confirmed that the fire had been extinguished, and no injuries have been reported.

The SFD investigators have confirmed that arson was the cause of both Wednesday morning fires in Rainier Valley.
