Did Russell Wilson endorse Hillary Clinton for president?

Nov 1, 2016, 12:26 PM

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson appeared to endorse Hillary Clinton for president in a method fit for Halloween.

Wearing a Barack Obama mask, Wilson encouraged people to vote for the woman standing next to him — his wife, Ciara, wearing a Clinton mask.

“Make sure you guys vote for Hillary here,” he says. “She’s going to be a great president.”

As you can imagine, the posts drew both praise and criticism from fans.

It isn’t the first time a player from the Seattle Seahawks has become political. Near the end of 2015, defensive lineman Michael Bennett said he was supporting Bernie Sanders. Bennett said politics are a common topic of conversation in the locker room.

More recently, cornerback Richard Sherman joined several other athletes voicing their concerns over the comments Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made in 2005. Trump, who bragged about being able to do anything to woman, said it was “locker-room talk.” Sherman called that a “cop-out.”

On a more local level, Doug Baldwin met with Seattle Mayor Ed Murray privately to speak about police training and tactics. Though he didn’t go into specifics, Baldwin called the conversation “amazing.”
