Seattle pimp faces record long prison sentence

Apr 25, 2012, 2:29 PM | Updated: 4:16 pm

Prosecutors expect to get the longest sentence ever in Washington for a pimp when a Seattle man is sentenced on Friday.

A sheriff’s detective says D’Marco Mobley, 20, threatened one woman with a gun last year and locked her in the trunk of a car for more than a day. Investigators say Mobley also looked at photos of the woman’s family and threatened to kill them.

A 17-year-old girl claims Mobley was her pimp and that he beat and sexually assaulted her. Mobley was also accused of assaulting and threatening to kill another girl and a woman last June.

A detective testified Mobley said that he wanted to be the biggest gangster in Seattle. The detective also claimed that Mobley bragged that he would kill a police officer.

Mobley was convicted of multiple charges including promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor, promoting prostitution, kidnapping and robbery. The sentencing range for his crimes is 37 to 47 years. King County Superior Court Judge Monica Benson could consider life in prison.
