Several people were arrested during demonstrations in Seattle on Tuesday night, and one person was hit by a car.

The person was not injured, and the driver was tracked down.

One of the arrests happened when police say a demonstrator was spotted spray painting city property. Another person tried to stop that arrest from happening and was taken into custody.

Two additional arrests were made at that scene, according to police, for a total of four people arrested.

The Seattle Police Department tweeted just before 10 p.m. that a group of people in the 1400 block of Harrison Street had started dragging trash cans and temporary street signs into the roadway. Officers were in the area and said they would be monitoring the group for “serious law violations.” That was before the four arrests were made.

Later in the night, police tweeted that there were “reports of a person struck by a vehicle at a protest in front of the West Precinct.” Officers then cleared cars blocking traffic to investigate. The driver involved in the initial collision was located by officers, and citations were issued to drivers who refused to leave the scene.

There was a badge or patch spotted on the shoulder of the driver in the collision, but the SPD has confirmed that it was not an SPD employee. The vehicle was damaged.

The investigation is ongoing.
