Shooting in Pioneer Square

In a separate incident, officers arrested a man in Pioneer Square after opening fire on another person early Monday morning.

Officers patrolling the 150 block of S Washington St. witnessed a fight in a nearby parking lot, according to the SPD. The officers reportedly approached the fight and witnessed a man pull out a gun and begin shooting the victim who fell to the ground. The suspect attempted to run away, but police say officers apprehended him on the other side of the parking lot.

Seattle Fire Department medics took the victim to Harborview Medical Center where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
