The man suspected of being involved in a double homicide was a no-show for his initial appearance in court today, with his bail hearing rescheduled for tomorrow.

Seattle Police took the man into custody after a 53-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were found murdered in a Georgetown apartment.

According to documents, the victims were attacked with a knife.

“Prosecutors argued that there was probable cause for two counts of murder in the first degree and thankfully, a judge agreed with us, so he remains in the King County Jail,” said Casey McNerthney, the Director of Communications for the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police said the 42-year-old suspect was spotted walking down the street covered in blood.

“One of the things King County prosecutors showed to the judge today in court is that he has 65 arrests in the state of California,” McNerthney said. “That includes felony and misdemeanor cases in California, and that’s significant.”

The man is currently under investigation for attempted rape and spent time in jail in Seattle for assault.

“I think a lot of people will say, why wasn’t he charged in that case?” McNerthney said. “The answer is it wasn’t sent to us by police investigators yet. They’re still working on that investigation and, if and when that’s sent to us, King County prosecutors will act on that immediately.”
