Suspected drunk driver gives cop beer instead of ID

Jun 17, 2013, 2:27 PM | Updated: 3:26 pm

A Kent man is in jail for telling police he was a government assassin, then handing them a can of beer instead of his license.

Omar Medina, 26, is now awaiting arraignment on $250,000 bond.

Court documents say he was spotted by three women on June 8, driving so wildly that they followed him and called 911. They reportedly saw Medina struggle from his car in a 7-11 parking lot, urinate, then go in and buy alcohol.

Police confronted him when he came out of the store. They demanded his ID, but he instead handed them a can of beer. Medina refused to co-operate and was arrested, even though he claimed he respected no government and was a government assassin.

He’s now being held on suspicion of felony DUI.

Medina has numerous other DUI convictions and failed to appear in court on charges nine times since 2006.
