Kenneth Kelly was one of three teens convicted in the 2008 death of Tuba Man Edward McMichael.
Another one of the teens who beat Seattle’s beloved “Tuba Man” to death has been arrested and charged with new crime.
Kenneth Kelly, 18, who served a short time in juvenile detention for manslaughter in the Tuba Man killing is back in jail, accused of possessing a gun.
Police say they caught Kelly in a car with a loaded gun on Feb. 26 after a brief chase by gang detectives.
KOMO reports Kelly is prohibited from carrying a gun because he was one of three 15-year-olds convicted in the 2008 death of Edward McMichael. He was known as Tuba Man for playing the tuba outside sporting events. He was beaten and robbed near the Seattle Center.
Kelly and the two other teens were released after no more than 36 weeks in juvenile detention.
SeattlePI.com says the 18-year-old remains in jail.
Another of the Tuba Man’s killers, Billy Chambers, is already serving time in prison for assault and hit and run. Felonies he committed after being released from juvenile detention.
