The Washington State Patrol is on the hunt for a hit and run bike rider who ran into another bicyclist on the I-90 floating bridge bike path, causing serious injuries.

The victim was riding eastbound on the bike path on Wednesday, April 30, at 3:15 pm when another bicyclist heading the opposite direction veered left and ran into her, knocking her off her bike. The victim suffered serious injuries to her elbow and hip.

The suspect originally stopped and asked if the other rider was alright and needed anything, and then left the scene on her bike and headed westbound towards Seattle, Trooper Chris Webb says.

The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 25-35 years old with sandy blonde, shoulder length hair. She was riding a “tour type” bike and was not wearing a helmet or traditional cycling clothing.

Webb says detectives are hoping to find the hit and run biker and any witnesses. The law requires all people to stop at the scene of a collision and provide their contact information whether it involves a car or bicycle.

If you have any information related to this collision and/or events leading up to the collision, you are asked to please call Detective Ruth Medeiros at 425-401-7719.
