Ravensale is due west of Covington on 516.

Nick Valison was out walking his dog, near his home, on the morning of September 21. When Nick failed to answer his phone several times, his wife, Tanya, drove to his regular route.

When she got there, paramedics were working on Nick.

He had been viciously beaten and paramedics were unable to save his life.

“The loss is felt,” Tina McDonough, a neighbor, told KIRO Newsradio. “It has rippled through the entire community. I can’t believe something like that happens in our backyard.”

The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but they have very little to go on and no information about a suspect.

“The sad, sad thing about what the world has come to is people cannot even take a walk,” Ravensdale resident Carol said.

Valison is survived by his wife of 30 years and two daughters.

Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a $1,000 reward, and the community is offering $5,000 more for information that leads to an arrest and charges.

Signs asking for help in solving the crime are up everywhere in the neighborhood.

If you have any information, you can remain anonymous and submit information through the P3 Tips App or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
