Winter advisory issued as snow showers move over Cascades

It was just a few days ago that we were enjoying unusually warm weather, now we’re being warned to make sure there are chains in our vehicles.
On Tuesday morning, mountain webcams showed snow sticking to roadways at several passes.

A tweet from Stevens Pass provided a good example of just how much snow fell in some areas.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Olympics and Cascades. It will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday.
Snow showers are possible above 4,500 feet throughout the day. The Weather Service reports snow levels could drop to as low as 3,000 feet in the afternoon and 2,500 in the evening.
Accumulation of 2 to 6 inches is possible.
