A Washington State Patrol trooper was injured when another vehicle slammed into her patrol car on southbound I-5 Sunday morning.

The trooper was waiting for a tow truck at approximately 2 a.m. near Des Moines when her car was hit, according to Trooper Chris Webb.

The trooper suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. The driver did not have a valid drivers license.

This is the second time in three days a trooper has been injured in a car crash while waiting on the side of the road.
