SMN host Manda Factor shares first-hand experience in the stadium as Seahawks clinch Super Bowl berth

Did that really happen? I’ve been going to Seattle Seahawks games for 18 years. I love going to the games.

I was at the NFC Championship game Sunday night, which explains why I am a little rough around the edges this morning. It was so cool after the game (I stayed way too late), nobody wanted to leave. The celebration on the field was spectacular. It was amazing. I’m having a little difficulty speaking this morning.

“There’s no way it can be louder than last Saturday’s game [against the San Francisco 49ers],” I remember saying Friday.

Oh, but it was. It was just electric. On fire. Blitz was floatin’ around on wires in the middle of the field. It was unbelievable. Jody Allen raising the flag was amazing. Every aspect of the game was terrific. It was really fun.

The fans were so darn into it! They love this team!

Oh, and we also have one heck of a head coach, Mike Macdonald. In just two years, he got us to the Super Bowl. He better stay for a long time.

Before the NFC Divisional Round game against the San Francisco 49ers, my husband suggested staying home.

“You know, maybe we should just watch it on TV,” he said.

“Absolutely not!” I responded. “We’re going!”

When we got home, he simply said, “We were supposed to be there.”

The Seattle Seahawks are one win away from the franchise’s second Super Bowl victory. The only thing standing in this team’s way of that glory? A chance to avenge the team’s last Super Bowl appearance 11 years ago, a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots.

Thanks to The Seattle Times' editorial board, I've changed my mind. The Blue Angels don't belong in modern Seattle. Not because they're loud. Not because they're military. Because they're just too exciting.

The bullets that killed Whitehead and Villalba do not appear to have come from the teen's gun. Think about what a defense attorney does with that.
