TV host Wayne Allyn Root says he gave Trump security emergency idea

For former Libertarian vice presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root, President Trump may be the greatest economic president in history.

Root, who hosts “The Wayne Allyn Root Show” on USA Radio and on Newsmax TV, and who can be found at RootforAmerica.com, told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson that he may be the idea-generator behind many of Trump’s biggest statements.

In November, Root wrote a column telling Trump he would never get the money for a wall, and should declare a national security emergency instead to use military funds.

“I made sure that column was put right into the president’s hands — literally hand-delivered by one of my best friends who spends all his weekends at Mar-a-Lago,” he said.

Within days, Root said, Trump began threatening to declare a national security emergency, and eventually did so in February.

Similar instances of Trump taking Root’s advice to heart have occurred around a dozen times, he said, such as when he suggested that Trump call wall opponents “border crisis deniers.”

“I think I’m having some effect on him, and I’m proud of that fact,” Root declared.

Root does not foresee Trump having any great difficulty in holding onto the White House for a second term.

“I bet my money that he wins by an electoral landslide in 2020,” he said. “There’s absolutely nobody on the Democratic side who has any chance of beating Trump … unless something terrible happens between now and then to the economy.”

It will depend on how the rest of his presidency goes, but right now, Root believes, Trump is on track to be one of if not the “G.O.A.T.” or “greatest of all time,” in terms of economics.

“Trump’s economy went big from the moment he became president,” Root said, adding, “From the moment Trump became president, it was like this relief, this black cloud, was lifted off America and every business man and woman in America.”

The biggest divisions in America, according to Root, are not racial, religious, gender, or cultural divides.

“Ninety percent of everybody who works for a living is a Republican, and 90 percent of everyone who lives off the dough are Democrats,” he said.
