Video: Brazen prowler hits car while victim pumps gas feet away

The Olympia Police Department is trying to track down a brazen thief who broke into a truck in broad daylight while the truck’s owner pumped gas on the other side.
Security video released by police shows the victim pumping gas Monday while the car prowler sneaks up to the truck, opens the passenger side door, rifles through the cab, and steals an envelope full of cash.
You can see the suspect walk up to the car at the 1:05 mark in the upper right hand corner of the video at the Safeway gas station near the corner of Martin Way E. and Kasey Keller Drive NE.
Police say the video is particularly disturbing because the suspect was so brazen, with the victim just feet away.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the thief or has any information call 360-704-2740.
