Paul Dudley helps kids affected by childhood cancer enjoy some normalcy amid a time in their lives that is anything but normal.

Though some may know him as “Captain Mooselips,” Paul Dudley is a photographer, auctioneer, licensed captain and the man behind the moniker who helps bring joy and fun to area children fighting cancer.

As a volunteer for 34 years at Camp Goodtimes, he helps kids affected by childhood cancer enjoy some normalcy amid a time in their lives that is anything but normal. Paul captains Argosy cruise boats to take them out on the water for a day of fun. He provides these kids and their families with priceless mementos of the joys of summer camp through his photography as well.

KIRO Radio and WSECU are proud to honor Paul Dudley as a Hometown Hero and award him with $2,000 for his commitment to being a bright light for children fighting or having been affected by cancer. As a not-for-profit credit union, WSECU invests their profits into creating a better community, and last year 90% of their employees volunteered their own time in communities across Washington stat. If you know someone who invests in their hometown, nominate them to be a Hometown Hero here.
