Police have taken a man into custody in connection to the triple homicide near Lacey last week, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was arrested Wednesday. He is being held without bail on suspicion of murder and identity theft, according to a jail roster.

The bodies of 36-year-old Gerald M. Berkey of Elma, 28-year-old Jackson L. Edens of Olympia, and 31-year-old Terron R. McGrath of Olympia were found inside a travel trailer in the 500 block of Dutterow Road Southeast on June 22. All three had been shot.

A fourth person, who was shot in the stomach, survived. That man called 911 to report the shooting.

The suspect is held on second-degree identity theft, first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and attempted murder in the second degree.

Police found drugs and about half a dozen firearms in the residence that has been described as a “problem.” The Associated Press reported that half a pound of meth, along with heroin, was confiscated.

In addition to suspect’s arrest, a suspected material witness in the case was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and the intent to deliver heroin.

Thurston County Sheriff John Snaza said detectives believe one of the people shot was targeted, The Seattle Times reports.
