Sure, you can easily go to the grocery store and pluck ripe containers of in-season berries off the shelves. But what about getting out under the sun and having the satisfaction of collecting your own bounty? Here are three places to get your berry-picking fix.

Cha New Life’s Bellevue Blueberry Farms: Cha New Life operates two Bellevue blueberry hot spots — the Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm and the Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm — from early July through late August. Mercer Slough has 19 acres of blueberry bushes, with eight varieties to choose from; Larsen Lake has 14 acres of blueberry bushes and seven varieties.

Fall City U Pick Berries: Open between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Carnation Road’s Fall City U Pick Berries is family-run and refrains from using pesticides. “We know that food grown on healthy land with healthy farming is healthy food,” the business’s website said.

Remlinger Farms: Remlinger Farms offers different picking opportunities throughout the year: visitors can snatch up strawberries in June, and then they can return in the fall to haul pumpkins home. In July and early August, it’s raspberry season. Though dates hadn’t yet been confirmed as of press time, the farm said on its website that it’s not unusual for its raspberry patches to be open every single day of July.
