A 33-year-old man is charged with murder and assault after allegedly shooting two men and killing one at a Burien home last month during a dispute over a puppy.
Witnesses said Donovan Glover, 33, became angry when told a puppy he wanted would go to someone else — and when one of the victims joked about Glover allegedly beating his own dog, according to court documents.
“Really not something that you want to lose your life over,” Casey McNerthney, a spokesperson with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said. “It’s a very tragic case.”
On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Glover with second-degree murder with a firearm enhancement, second-degree assault with a firearm enhancement, and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
Glover is scheduled for arraignment on Nov. 5.
Bail set at $3 million in deadly Burien shooting
Deputies responded to a shooting at the corner of SW 130th Street and 2nd Avenue SW at approximately 3:40 a.m. Oct. 16, King County Sheriff’s Office Master Police Officer Jace Hoch told KIRO Newsradio.
“When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene,” Hoch said.
King County deputies, members of the Burien, Shoreline, and SeaTac police, and Metro and Sound Transit units responded to the scene.
A short time later, someone flagged down deputies and led them to another man with gunshot wounds. His wounds were not life-threatening, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital.
Glover’s bail was set at $3 million.
Court documents show more than 30 warrants were issued for Glover for failing to appear at hearings between 2011 and 2025.
Glover also has several felony convictions for crimes including assault and attempted robbery. His record also includes approximately 26 non-felony convictions for crimes including theft and assault, among others.
