Move over, churro. Costco’s food court has a new fall treat, and it just landed in the Seattle area.
Costco’s new vanilla apple pie sundae, a limited-time fall treat, is rolling out at select food courts nationwide, and I got one of the first tastes in the Pacific Northwest. I found it Thursday at lunchtime at the Shoreline Costco, under a bright “new” banner, for $2.99.
What’s in Costco’s apple pie sundae?
Costco starts with a layer of apple pie filling and pieces of pie crust at the bottom of the cup. Then comes a generous swirl of vanilla soft serve, topped with more apple pie filling and more crust.
The vanilla ice cream is incredibly smooth and creamy, and the cinnamon-spiced apple pie flavor makes it the perfect autumn treat. Picture apple pie à la mode in a cup.
Is the apple pie sundae at every Costco?
National outlets, including KTLA, Parade, and The Takeout, report that the sundae started appearing at Costco food courts this month as a limited-time seasonal item.
It’s still making its way to warehouses, so it may not be on the menu at every location yet. Before you go, call your local Costco or check the food court menu board.
Costco apple pie sundae vs. churro
Word is getting around, too. Shoppers across the country are saying it’s even better than the churro.
That’s a big claim. The Costco churro made a triumphant return to food courts recently for a limited time at $1.49, and it’s still on sale. But if you can only pick one, I’d go with the apple pie sundae by a mile. The churro is lovely, but this sundae is autumn in a cup.
If you’re interested in trying it, this won’t be around forever, so get it while it lasts.
