The popular ice cream shop, Salt & Straw, will have a grand opening of its third Seattle location today on Queen Anne.
The newest Salt & Straw location will be located at 2201 Queen Anne Ave. N., and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Salt & Straw opens in Queen Anne today
Salt & Straw announced it was expanding to Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood in January. The company had previously planned to move into Pike Place Market in April, but bowed out of that location more than one week later.
Originating as a simple food cart in Portland in 2011, cousins Kim and Tyler Malek have expanded Salt & Straw to 50 locations across seven states, including 14 in Oregon and Washington.

Salt & Straw offers seasonal ice cream concoctions like the “Caramel Apple Sherbet,” the “Vanilla Apple Custard Tart” flavor, and the “Apple Cider Donut” flavor.
The ice cream shop also provides traditional flavors like “Double Ford Vanilla,” which has double the vanilla beans, and “Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip,” which includes pure Oregon mint oil.
“This shop has been a long time coming & we can’t wait to start scooping!” Salt & Straw wrote. “Join us for a celebratory cone on opening day and enjoy complimentary bevvies from Caffe Vita for the first in line.”
Customers can grab a single scoop cup for $6.95 or a double scoop cup for $8.95, and adding a waffle cone on the side costs $1.65. Salt & Straw also sells its ice cream by the pint for $12.50 and a “Pup Cup” for $3.75.
