Thousands of volunteers gave back to the community on Saturday for One Seattle Day, including KIRO Newsradio’s own Gee and Ursula Show.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell announced the day of community service in April, and nearly 4,000 people signed up for 127 events across the city. The event encouraged civil engagement throughout the community.

Mayor Harrell participated in several events, starting in Pioneer Square, where he was joined by Councilmembers Sara Nelson and Andrew Lewis, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, former Sounder Brad Evans, and several listeners of the Gee and Ursula Show.

“We have an opportunity to both give back to the city we love and set the One Seattle example for what we can accomplish,” explained Harrell.
