Two Unfunny Comics get together to tell jokes...neither succeeds.
Producer Jake says: Listen, politics aside...and I'm being very serious here. There is no person alive, liberal or conservative, who actually laughs when either of these two attempt humor. The following is not a joke; it's a fact. Question: Who is the only person less funny (or equally as unfunny) than Joy Behar? Answer: George Lopez.

PA couple Arrested for refusing tip on lousy service
Producer Jake says: Good for them for not giving in, even though they did get arrested. I can't think of a better way to keep people from coming to your restaurant than to arrest them for refusing to pay a $16 gratuity on lousy service.

New Deal, Fair Deal, now the "Good Deal"? A multi-trillion dollar health care bill?
In The Hill, Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) is quoted saying, "We had the New Deal, we had the Fair Deal and this is a good deal for the American people."
Oh really? Rushing a vote on a 2,000+ page, complex, permanent entitlement that the Dean of the Harvard Medical School warns will rapidly escalate costs and reduce medical innovation is a "good deal" for the American people?
And why did Senator Coburn abandon his his delaying tactic of demanding bill readings? Coburn is top notch, but I'd prefer opponents use every arrow in their quill to stop this thing.
On a related note, Jesse Jackson claims you can't vote against this thing and remain a black man. So I guess that means the opposition is forced to take Sammy Sosa's skin rejuvenation product. Yet another mandate I didn't want!

We've seen the celebration of cop killers before...
Some local scumbags are selling a t-shirt glorifying the alleged killer of Seattle Police Officer Tim Brenton. The Seattle Times reports a local punk band created the shirt because they support the murder of cops. I first saw the shirt on Dori's site.

As horrifying as the shirt is (only a portion of which is seen above), we have seen the likes of it many times. Evergreen State College chose to honor a cop killer by naming him a commencement speaker. We see the t-shirts that celebrate various left-wing mass murderers. And don't forget music that celebrates violence toward police. There has been big money in it.
Why parents would ever allow it? I'm sure it starts in homes without parents, but the big money comes when it is tolerated in "good" homes.
Here's a reminder of a guy who stood up to this crap:
Don't forget, you can donate to Officer Brenton's family at any Bank of America Branch.

What should Tim Eyman do next?

(Image: The Battles of Tim Eyman)
I've long held that the opposition to Tim Eyman's initiatives makes a mistake in focusing so much on Tim. I believe that voters pick and choose which initiatives to support based on what the initiative would do (or what they think the initiative would do). However, I am wondering if that has changed.
Recent conversations with conservative friends suggest that the years of focusing on Eyman may be having an effect... or at least, some conservatives are believing it has had an effect. I've ran into a few who believe that Eyman needs to "take a back seat" or at least let someone else do the speaking for their next initiative.
I remain unconvinced. Whatever Eyman did, whether in the background or the foreground, the left would label it an "Eyman initiative." I know some would prefer he just "lay low" for a while, but it seems to me that the best defense is a good offense--and that what he needs is a win--a simple idea that politicians have ignored but that the public supports.
What are your thoughts on Eyman and any potential initiatives?

The Bow, take 2
Producer Jake says: Remember when this wasn't suppossed to be a bow? Well, there's no mistaking this one.
UPDATE from Boze: ABC's Jake Tapper's blog suggests Nixon bowed. Here's the link to the photo. Doesn't look at all like a subservient bow to me. Looks more like Nixon is trying to hear what's being said. Plus, they are eye to eye, whereas Obama is clearly being submissive.

Another question regarding civilian terror trial...
While most will swear to tell "nothing but the truth" on a bible, what will 9-11 mastermind (I refuse to say "accused" for a whack job who's already confessed) KSM swear on should he choose to testify/launch into a propaganda speech? Since he has hijacked the religion of peace, it wouldn't make sense to allow him to swear on a Koran would it?

THE QUESTION for President Obama on civilian trials...
Mr. President, if Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the confessed mastermind of 9-11, is judged "not guilty" by jury trial or because of court technicalities, are you going to let him go free?
