The Green Police Ad
Never before did I feel LESS compelled to be "green"...
It was as though the makers of this commercial put their "green" fantasies to film and too late realized that they horrified the average American.

Which commercial did you hate the most...
There were a lot of commercials that could make the "Worst of" list from the Super Bowl ads. Which one did you hate the most?
Here is one that was just awful...
...but given that we all paid 2.5 million dollars for this one, I vote that this is the worst

Senator Benton vs. Patty Murray

State Senator Don Benton announced he intends to take on U.S. Senator Patty Murray. He joins a number of other candidates in the Republican primary, but stands out as the one with experience in the political arena. Senator Benton had a brief and controversial stint as head of the state GOP, and has faithfully opposed tax increases throughout his political career.
The question is, can Senator Benton appeal to enough of the King, Pierce, Snohomish stronghold to take the seat from Senator Murray, OR is it time to mount a Draft Dino campaign?

I LIKE GUNS
A listener sent me a link to this song and a new theme for gun stories on the David Boze show was discovered....
Side note: I love the video, but I feel compelled to add that I assume he cleaned up the trash after the shooting. I HATE it when people shoot up old appliances and leave them out in the woods. Pick up after yourselves people!

US bullying Toyota on recall explained?
Producer Jake says: This article tipped me to the idea; is the US bullying Toyota on recall? It makes perfect sense given the US government's major stake in rivals General Motors and Chrysler. Wouldn't they stand to pick up a major share of potential car buyers who may think twice about buying a Toyota?

Made.... of.....steel!

Reading the story about the kiteboarder who was killed by sharks off the coast of Florida, this paragraph describing the attempt to rescue the man stood out to me:
A lifeguard spotted Schafer in distress about 500 yards off the beach Wednesday about 100 miles north of Miami. When the lifeguard paddled out on a large surf board, he found Schafer bleeding and surrounded by several sharks. The lifeguard put Schafer on his board and paddled him back to the beach.
That lifeguard, who knowingly sent himself into a pool of sharks to grab a man they had determined was their food, must have nerves of steel. What a hero!

Super Bowl ad too expensive for Pepsi, but guess who can afford it?
Producer Jake says: We'll cover this a bit more on the show today but just a quick note. Pepsi has decided that a 2.5 million dollar advertisement during the Superbowl is too expensive to justify. Guess who did buy a spot? You.

Is this how you want your money spent?

Why our state's Democrats should listen to Mayor Daley . . .
Recently, after Oregon increased taxes on the wealthy and corporations, news reports suggested that state democrats thought the message we should take from that was, "if voters will increase taxes in Oregon, we can get them to do it in Washington!"
That's not the message received in Chicago of all places.
Mayor Daley's response was featured in the Wall Street Journal. Daley is excited that Oregon is raising taxes and thinks that businesses will relocate from Oregon to his city. While I can think of better places for them to go, at least he grasps the reality that capital is portable, and that raising taxes can make your state less competitive.
For once I am hoping our state's legislators listen to Mayor Daley.

The New State Seal?
If enough people sign the initiative filed by James Vaughn of Orting Washington, our State Seal could soon look dump George Washington in favor of this fella...

Personally, I prefer Mr. Washington. Read about it here.
