A vehicle drove off the roadway down a 50-foot embankment on Tuesday on EB I-90.

At approximately 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Eastside Fire & Rescue (EFR) and Bellevue Medics responded to the collision near milepost 40, EFR announced.

Photos of the crash show that the car breached one of the roadside barriers and ended up flipped over several feet down the hill. One of the trees seemingly brought the vehicle to a halt, leaving it upside down.

WA State Patrol attributes collision to speeding, patient’s condition unknown

At the time of the collision, EFR noted that one patient was being assessed for their injuries. No information has been provided on the patient’s status, as of this reporting.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Rick Johnson also responded to the collision scene and documented the recovery efforts.

Johnson later confirmed that the crash was caused by speeding.
