An Unelected Transit Board Decides Which Transit Projects Live or Die!?

Last Thursday, the Sound Transit board took votes on billions of dollars of regional transit money. Ballard gets cut off at Seattle Center. South Kirkland to Issaquah pushed to 2050. A car rental tax was raised. Parking garages and Sounder South improvements deferred.

Not one of the 18 board members was elected to that seat. They got there by appointment. Charlie Harger's commentary today is on the accountability problem at the heart of Sound Transit.
