Dr. Braunfeld on WA Measles Spike & Russia Plague Scare
Measles cases in the U.S. have hit nearly 4,000 this year — the most since 1991. Pennsylvania alone has surpassed 1,000 cases with four deaths. And Washington state is already at 58 cases, up from 12 for all of last year.
Dr. Jordan Braunfeld, an infectious disease physician at Evergreen Health in Kirkland, joins fill-in hosts Greg Tomlin and Angela Poe Russell to break down what's happening, why the U.S. is likely to lose its measles elimination status this fall, and what Washingtonians should actually do about it.
