Inslee Blames Wildfires on Climate. Todd Myers Fires Back.

Western Washington is bracing for hazy skies, wildfire smoke, and a brief heat wave — with fires burning in Oregon and Canada. And of course, the political debate is back with the smoke.

Former Governor Jay Inslee posted on X, connecting the wildfire surge to climate change, quoting a New York Times piece. Todd Myers of the Washington Policy Center fired back with a quote from Mark Twain in 1895 describing thick smoke from Canadian forest fires — arguing this isn't a brand new phenomenon.
