Rob Saka Wants 31 Cameras at Seattle Center
Three people were killed at the Bite of Seattle. The shooter is still on the loose. And Seattle Center still doesn't have full camera coverage. Councilmember Rob Saka is proposing $1 million for 31 cameras — about 0.01% of the city's $9.1 billion budget. Jake and Spike break down why this is still even a debate, how Seattle was the last World Cup host city to turn cameras on and the first to turn them off, and why the city is spending $80 million on a crisis response team with 40 responders but can't find a million for surveillance. Mayor Wilson still hasn't released the camera audit.
