Racy Image in Tacoma Political Mailer?

Here's the picture I'll be talking about at 3pm today...

Teen mailer

Is it "racy" or is simply a picture that could be used in an anti-drug commercial but is considered "racy" because of the ISSUE that is brought up by the mailer?

And while I obviously don't condone people using positions of authority to gain sexual favors. Maybe she voted against it because the clear age of consent in this state is 18, so it would not be an equal application of law?

I would have voted against it too.

I'd be more likely to vote for a law that says Dad is allowed to slap the teacher around a bit without facing assault charges in that case. :-)

A stupid campaign flyer, but I don't think it's racy. It's just designed and targeted at the lowest common denominator. The voter that will look at it and just believe it without trying to find out why she voted against the law.

What's the opposite of "racy" ?
Any raciness from the hot blonde teenager is more than counteracted by the image of Jeannie Darnielle directly beneath her. In fact, I'm thinking of joining a monastery after I submit this comment.

I'd like to see more about this law that 'the 14 voted against'....
Often when this kind of attack on a candidate is done, there's a reason that the attacked candidate voted the way they did. There's (as usual) no context for the 'no' vote, just the usual casting the vote as the most evil act since Hitler, Pol Pot. etc. etc. that is standard in today's politics. Why did she vote 'no'? Was it because she thought the law DIDN'T go far enough? Was it because she didn't like some (often unrelated) baggage that came with this law? Was she involved with a competing bill that she was supporting instead? I'd give dollars to donuts that she's got a valid reason and one that's not 'she supports teachers grooming and sexually violating students'...

    It's criminal because...
some of these teachers use their position to get "consensual" sex from impressionable teens of age. While the 18 year old may consent, it can be with a fair amount of manipulation from the teacher, a person who has authority over the teenager. The age of consent at 16 still has restrictions. You have to be an age within a certain amount of the 16 year old. If there weren't these rules, I suspect we'd be seeing a lot more valedictorians.

    Dem on Dem crime
Thank goodness they can't blame some right wing group for putting out this ad. There is no hidden or complicated reason for why this scary looking woman thought this bill shouldn't become law. She thinks that a student 18 and up should be able to have consensual sex with a teacher or anyone in a position of authority. The law at the time was ambiguous and the new law cleaning up the language was passed unanimously by the senate. What I want to know is who are the 14 other kooks who voted with her.
