Did Boeing Workers Save Flydubai Passengers?
A Flydubai 737 MAX headed from Dubai to Tel Aviv nearly went down this week after officials said the co-pilot stabbed the captain and tried to crash the plane. The jet may have briefly hit the speed of sound in the dive. Photos show a rudder chewed up by flutter. Aviation analyst John Nance called it "incredibly improbable" that the airplane came back.
A plumber in the cabin grabbed the yoke. Two off-duty pilots took over and landed the plane in Saudi Arabia. 174 people walked off, 27 of them children. That plane was built in Renton.
