NASA Wants to Fly the SR-71 Blackbird Again!?
Walk into the Great Gallery at Seattle's Museum of Flight and the Blackbird is the first thing you notice — a long black titanium dart with a drone riding on its back. Now picture walking in one day and finding it gone.

The SR-71A with tail number 844, the last Blackbird Lockheed ever built and the last one to fly, had stood on a display pole since 1999. Earlier this year, it vanished. Aviation Week reporter Steve Trimble found out why: NASA appears to be trying to get the SR-71 Blackbird to fly again.
