Flu season is finally here; health officials say it came a little late.
Until February, there weren’t enough flu cases in the U.S. to signal the start of the season, which usually begins in December or January.
“Flu season has its own rhythm. Maybe over time, we’ve gotten people to wash their hands more; I sure hope so. Maybe we’ve gotten more people to get their flu shots,” said Washington’s Secretary of Health Mary Selecky.
But she says you should still get a flu shot if you haven’t already. Anyone over six months can get a vaccine.
