Former Rainier Beach High School star and current NBA player Terrence Williams was arrested in Kent Sunday in a domestic violence case.

Police say 25-year-old Williams pulled a gun on the mother of his 10-year-old son as they were exchanging the boy during a visitation.

Williams was the 11th pick in the 2009 NBA draft. He spent part of last season playing in China but finished the year playing for the Boston Celtics.

Williams recently signed a multi-year deal with the Celtics. The Rainier Beach High School star has had an up-and-down career in the NBA, being traded multiple times and disciplined for violating team rules.

But that Williams has made it this far is pretty amazing. His 20-year-old father Edgar was murdered when Williams was only six, just days after he had been released from prison. His young mother was also in jail at the time. Williams remembers watching her in chains at the funeral and then being dragged away.

He then bounced around from house to house, staying with friends, or high school administrators or with seven or eight family members in a cramped home.

Williams has said escaping his childhood in Seattle was one of his greatest accomplishments.

Williams also has another son who is now 6 years old.
