A large stretch of westbound SR 520 will be closed this weekend so light bulbs can be replaced.

WSDOT will be replacing 1,750 bulbs under the highway’s three Eastside lids.

Westbound SR 520 will be closed from 92nd Avenue Northeast in Bellevue to Montlake Boulevard in Seattle from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation says the lights were installed in 2013 and are now burning out. To get the warranty-approved 40,000-hour life on the replacement bulbs, the existing fixtures will need to replaced with new ones.

Westbound drivers will need to take I-90 or go around Lake Washington. All eastbound lanes and ramps will remain open over the weekend.
